Moose Travel Network

Moose Travel Network

"Jump on the Moose bus for our legendary winter tours as we cruise BC and Alberta for some of the best snow in the continent. Moose winter tours include the cost of accommodation and lift tickets all in one great price, so the only thing you have to worry about is getting yourself down the hill. Join backpackers from all around the world as they explore resorts such as Whistler, Big White or Lake Louise, (to name a few) packaged with great activities like winter tubing, snowmobiling, ice skating, hockey games, curling and dog sledding.

Our Westcoast Powder tour packages Whistler, Big White and Silverstar in an awesome 8 day adventure, that allows you to start or finish in Banff or Vancouver. Jump on the bus and make the most of Western BC and make some great friends from all over the world. Our Rocky Rager tour also features 5 days of skiing/snow boarding, but this time in the legendary Rocky Mountains where we visit: Sunshine, Lake Louise, Kicking Horse and Fernie. If that’s not enough combine both of these epic snow experiences in the Big Kahuna 14-16 day pass that takes in both the Rocky Rager and the Westcoast Powder. Never before has a tour been created that allows such a wide variety of snow and ski conditions! Jump on the Moose bus and see Canada like you’ve never imagined.

Check us out on Facebook to hook up with past or upcoming passengers. Check out our website as well and peruse some of our (slightly warmer) summer adventures! Happy travels! "

Moose Travel Network

Feature of the week for February 10th to Feb. 17th 2008: Our sponsor, Moose Travel specializes in Adventure Transportation in Canada for backpackers and independent travellers!

"Moose Travel Network is Canada's backpacker company. We offer hop-on hop-off adventure tours to the Rockies including Banff and Jasper, Vancouver Island, Whistler, Toronto, Montreal, Niagara Falls and now New York City. Our trips have been designed by backpackers for backpackers with the intention of making a true connection with local culture and the places to which we travel. According the veteran Rockies guide and guide-trainer John Rodgers, the secret is to take people to places that are quintessentially Canadian. "Our goal is to take our passengers to natural places that fill them with a massive sense of awe and inspiration. My favourite experiences have been canoeing in lakes in Algonquin Park, hiking to the continental divide in the Rockies, rafting the glacial-fed Kicking Horse river, having a campfire under the northern lights or hiking through our stunning temperate rainforests."

By offering hop-on and hop-off capabilities all of our passengers are afforded a great deal of flexibility. Our passes are valid for the whole season so a passenger can spend as much time as he or she needs exploring at their own pace. While on the bus passengers get to hang out with other like-minded travelers meeting people from all around the world having fun on our pub nights and other legendary social outings. Also as a Moose passenger you are entitled to great discounts with hostels and all activities on the tour. With 14 years of experience and super passionate Canadian guides, our tours are the only option for backpackers visiting Canada!

Summer trips begin in mid March and run into November. Check out our website at http://www.moosebus.com for more details. See you soon....Safe travels!"

about Backpackers Hostels Canada

Backpackers Hostels Canada is a network of over 140 backpacker hostels (also called youth hostels) across Canada. There are over 85 cities across Canada that include hostels in the Backpackers Hostels Canada network. There are several hostels in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver particularly.

What is a backpackers hostel? There are varying definitions, but we include accommodations that are friendly, warm, healthy and safe places for budget travellers. Usually hostels have dorm beds available in a room that they share with other travellers. This gives hostels the opportunity to give guests cheaper prices than they would at a hotel or B&B, but best of all gives the traveller further chance to meet other fell0w-travellers. A hostel is a great place to meet young men and women from other countries that have come to Canada in search of adventure. One great feature in every hostel is a comfortable common room, which gives the hostel a home-away-from-home or in any case, a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Common rooms in hostels usually include tv, dvds, Wifi Internet (or internet terminals), games, and big comfy couches and chairs allowing for socializing and relaxing.

Hostels are great places to stay while visiting a particular city, or while on the move across Canada. Each week for the last couple of years we've been featuring on our website (www.backpackers.ca), a different hostel, or adventure company catering to the adventurous budget traveller. We've decided its time to blog our feature each week, and redo some of the features from the past as blogs to give more permanent stay to the feature on the web. In this way, travellers will be able to get a good sense about what a particular hostel is about, and what the network, Backpackers Hostels Canada, as a whole, has to offer.

If you have an interest in starting a hostel in Canada, or if you have any questions for us, please email us at info@backpackers.ca.

Happy trails to you!
